St Andrew’s School Association (SASA)
The school’s Parent Association plays a vital part in improving the quality of life in the school. SASA’s objectives, in line with our Constitution and Rules, are to raise funds in order to provide educational facilities which would not normally be provided by the local education authority, and to develop the relationships within the school community, by organising fundraising and social events for parents, children and staff.
Parents automatically become members of SASA when their children join the school and are expected to contribute towards the organisation of SASA events, which include seasonal fairs, discos, quiz and craft evenings. If you have any ideas for future events or how to make our regular events even better, or if you would like to join our friendly committee, please do get in touch by emailing sasa@standrews.herts.sch.uk.
Recent SASA projects include:
- Creation of outdoor learning areas for early years and Year 1
- Refurbishment of school hall, including flooring, lighting and musical instruments
- Creation of outdoor stage
- Development of pond area
- Provision of iPads and books
In addition, SASA funds provide annual benefits to all children, through subsidisation of creative workshops, coach travel, reading diaries, leavers’ yearbooks, the school Christmas tree and pool maintenance.
School Lottery – For £5 per month (payable quarterly by standing order), you can participate in the School Lottery. 50% of money raised goes to SASA, the other 50% is split between three monthly winners. The size of the pot increases with the number of participants. Click here for more information and to sign up, or email sasa@standrews.herts.sch.uk.
Other ways to raise funds for SASA
EasyFundraising - SASA are registered with EasyFundraising which means that each time you shop online, a donation will be made to SASA. Over 7000 major brands across a huge variety of sectors participate in this scheme…. Use the following link to sign up! https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/sasahitchin/
Voluntary Donations - You can make one-off or regular voluntary donations by contacting the Treasurer at sasa@standrews.herts.sch.uk, or use this link: Please pay £10 to St Andrews School Association
Matched Funding - Many companies offer employees the chance to boost their fundraising efforts by 'matching' the money they or their ‘PTA’ raises. This means that we could double the amount of cash we raise with very little effort. If your company runs such a scheme, please give us a shout it could make a huge difference to the funds we can raise for our school.
